Opening Thursday is no surprise – it’s traditionally “Put-in-Bay Night” and it annually features live musical entertainment celebrating the excitement of summer life in the Lake Erie Islands. It’s a party atmosphere and, of course, everyone will be sipping the iconic lobster bisque from the Boardwalk brought fresh to the show from Put-in-Bay daily.
Mid-Winter's Dream, the Great Boating Rendezvous
Friday has been dubbed “Mid-Winter’s Dream, the Great Boating Rendezvous.” It reflects the fact that Friday is always a boater’s favorite day because it leads into the weekend! In addition to musical entertainment, Friday visitors will enjoy playing lawn games at the popular Twin Oast Brewing’s exhibit, and more.
Lake Erie Shores and Islands Day
Saturday has been declared “Lake Erie Shores and Islands Day.” It will be highlighted by exhibits detailing opportunities for fun in places including Kelleys Island, Marblehead, Sandusky, Port Clinton, Catawba and more.
Sunday is a first-ever salute to all women in boating and fishing and it’s appropriately named “Women’s Day.” It will include special programs on topics for women on each of the shows 3 special stages, the South Shore Marine Main Stage, the Buckeye Sports Fishing Stage, and the Riverfront Yachts Sailing Stage in the expanded Sailing Center.
Monday “Family Day” will wrap up the 5-day show. It’s the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday when schools and many businesses are closed. A perfect day to visit the show, while every day this year has a full slate of kids interactive features, there will be extra kid events on Family Day. (See “Boat Show for Kids” elsewhere in this show program.) Monday is also Sea Grant Day with $1 from every admission ticket going to research at the Stone Lab on Gibraltar Island.
